The study of nerve cells helps to reveal the working mechanisms of the brain, provides a theoretical basis for the diagnosis, treatment, and drug development of nervous system diseases, and promotes the development of neuroscience and related fields. Nerve cells are mainly divided into two major categories: neurons and glial cells.

Neurons: These are the most basic structural and functional units of the nervous system. They are the electrically excitable cells in the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), capable of transmitting and receiving electrical impulses and neurochemical signals to process information. NeuN：Neuronal nuclear protein, also known as Fox-3 or RBFOX3, is expressed only in post-mitotic neurons and is primarily used for the labeling of neuronal nuclei.
