Highlights from Absin's 17th Organoid Training Class
Time flies, and from April 24th to April 25th, 2025, the 15th Organoid Training Class has successfully concluded. Each session brings new insights and experiences, but more importantly, it has witnessed the growth of our participants. This training session featured small class sizes to better instruct each participant in hands-on practice and demonstrated the entire operational process of organoid technology, from primary culture, passage culture, cryopreservation, to revival. Together, we spent a pleasant learning period.

This course primarily combined theoretical lectures with hands-on teaching, closely integrating theory with practice. It began with Dr. Li, our organoid team leader, who gave a lecture on the application of organoid technology, sharing some of our achievements in organoid culture at Absin. During this process, we all discussed the recent developments and cutting-edge information in organoid technology. Then, Dr. Fang mainly shared knowledge related to organoid hands-on practice, covering the entire process and key points of operation from surgical sampling, primary culture, passage culture, cryopreservation and revival, to drug sensitivity testing. At the same time, he explained the methods for organoid identification, which can be judged from multiple aspects such as histological identification at the tissue level and molecular biology sequencing techniques.Practical Guide to Organoid Techniques
Hands-on Organoid Training
The practical session was personally instructed by Dr. Fang. Before the experiment began, the participants were first asked to observe the bright-field images of different types of samples, which would help them better assess the culture conditions of their own samples during subsequent cultivation. Since the sampling and digestion criteria vary for each type of sample, this session specifically showcased various samples including mouse small intestine, lung, liver, and stomach. Dr. Fang demonstrated the entire process of organoid primary culture, passage culture, and cryopreservation, along with the precautions to be taken.
