      Omicron Antigen

Coronavirxes are a large family of viruses known to cause colds and more serious illnesses such as Middle East Respiratory syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).  The Novel Coronavirus is a new strain of coronavirus that has not previously been detected in humans.  Common signs of coronavirus infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and dyspnea.  In more severe cases, the infection can lead to pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Multiple new mutated strains of COVID-19 have been isolated globally over the years.  Among them, Alpha, Gamma, Beta, Delta and the newly isolated Omicron have high infectivity and are of great concern.

N protein mutation was also present in the novel coronavirus mutant strains.  N protein is highly conserved and is often used as a marker for rapid detection of COVID-19 antigens.  It is necessary to further study whether the current commercially available antigen detection reagents can detect the mutant N protein and whether the detection sensitivity and specificity will be affected by the mutation.

      Absin new Omicron antigens: BA.2, ba.4, BA.2& Ba.5, ba.4 & ba.5, B.1.1.529, more antigens (BA.1.1, ba.2.12.1), please pay attention......
